Table-topping clash at SK Sturm

We are just two points ahead of Sturm Graz in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga table, meaning that the league lead is at stake in the big match. There is no doubt whatsoever just how big the match is - and there will definitely be no presents at the Merkur Arena this Easter Sunday!

A good omen is our Red Bulls' record of handling the pressure of the championship group. We have won nine out of ten championship group clashes with SK Sturm. In our only defeat at this stage of the season in April 2022, we were already confirmed as champions.

We travelled to Graz in a similar situation last year and took all three points back home with a superb 2-0 win. We cannot underestimate Christian Ilzer's side in any way - just one reason for that being the prolific goalscoring of winter signing Mika Biereth.

While we won at home to start the championship group 5-1 against TSV Hartberg, SK Sturm were equally impressive with a big 4-0 win against Austria Klagenfurt. The question now is which side will be able to keep their strong form over the international break.

We will be providing live updates of the big match on our website on Sunday. Those who prefer to follow the match on TV can take out a Sky X monthly subscription.

Just a few days later, SK Sturm are to provide the opposition again for our Red Bulls in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup semi-final - this time at the Red Bull Arena. Tickets for the clash on Thursday evening are still available online:

The upcoming matches are all something special. We can only take them one match at a time though as we put our full concentration on the next match. We are sure to face highly motivated opponents on Sunday, who will try everything to take points from us. We are prepared for that though and will do everything we can to continue our winning run in Graz. The title isn't going to be decided in any case as there are still eight more matches to play and a lot of points at stake.

Gerhard Struber

We are looking forward to this big match and are really prepared for it. Sturm Graz had a really good season, but they can see from the table that it won't be easy in any way against us. We want to show that we deserve to be at the top of the Bundesliga and extend our lead if we can.
