While everyone is busy with Robert Lewandowski’s future and the transfer of Sadio Mane, the future of Serge Gnabry at Bayern Munich is still uncertain. The German international has not extended his contract and there have been indicators of a departure in the summer.

Robert Lewandowski has already ruled out a contract extension with Bayern and is pushing for a transfer in the summer, on the other hand, Gnabry has not yet made a decision about his future. The 26-year-old’s contract with the Bavarians expires in 2023.

The talks between the club and the player are put on a ’standstill‘. According to Hasan Salihamidzic, new contract talks are scheduled in the future: „We will deepen the talks in the next few weeks,“ he told Sky . At the same time, the Bosnian made it clear that Bayern wants to keep the German winger: „I’m really clear about that: He’s a great boy. We really want to keep him. We would love to extend with him. I think we showed him the necessary appreciation. I hope that he chooses FC Bayern.“

But it is also clear that the Bayern bosses want to prevent a free transfer in 2023. If there is no extension with Gnabry in the summer, Bayern are open to a sale, as Salihamidzic indicated: „If a player does not want to choose the club, then it is only fair to tell the club so that you can find a solution for everyone involved that satisfies everyone.”

According to rumors, Bayern recently made a contract offer of 17-19 million euros to Serge Gnabry, which was not accepted nor rejected by the player. The rumors also indicate that Gnabry would have no problem staying for one year and then leave on a free, a scenario that Bayern wants to avoid at all costs.

The demanded transfer fee from Bayern for Gnabry is 40 million euros, according to a report by BILD.
