Ralph Hassenhuttl is a well regarded coach, and Chelsea fans were delighted to see two of their young talents head off to play under his tutelage at Southampton.

Both Armando Broja and Tino Livramento (who was sold on a permanent deal but with a buyback clause included) have made great progress already, and both scored in this weekend’s draw for the Saints against Burnley.

Speaking after the game, their coach revealed how happy he was with their progress so far, pointing out how ridiculously mature they both are considering their age.

“We’ve seen twice Armando Broja scored from two starts. He gives us qualities that we need and I am very happy to have him here,” said Hasenhuttl in quotes picked up by Hampshire News.

“Tino will also score more in the future, he is a very talented young player and I am so convinced that with this squad we will have a lot of fun.

“They are young and they have big futures, give them the time and you will see that they’re good players… Tino played his eighth game and you would think he has played plenty more.”

Broja’s explosive rise is the last couple of years means he’s suddenly looking like he’s got a chance of establishing himself as a proper option for Chelsea in the future, while Livramento has long been considered one of the jewels of the academy.

Now they’re both learning under a top coach, and Blues fans will be keeping an eye on Southampton results and highlights for as long as either of them is there.

If they both continue to improve rapidly, that might not be much more than a season, at most.
