Dino Toppmöller provides an injury update and says he wants his young side to pose more of a threat in front of goal away to Wolfsburg.

Dino Toppmöller on ...

… personnel: “Simon Simoni and Sebastian Rode are definitely out. Kristijan Jakic trained with us and feels fine. Lucas Alario has had some good sessions, as has Nacho. We’ll make our final decisions after the final training session.”

… opponents VfL Wolfsburg: “We’re expecting a very good side who operate in a 4-3-3, with central midfielders who are confident on the ball, a strong number nine in Jonas Wind and fast wingers. We’re looking forward to a contest between two technically gifted, compact teams.”

… Eintracht’s approach: “We want to cause our opponents problems and dominate with the ball. We’ve been able to do just that in our last few games, but we now need to make sure our possession helps us threaten in front of goal and get into certain positions. That’s also been a focus in training this week, as has finishing off our chances.”

… Omar Marmoush’s return to Wolfsburg: “He’s always enthusiastic, always trains well and is always motivated. He lives and breathes football, with all his heart and soul. He works very hard, always listens and is always willing to learn. It’s been a very ordinary week for him up to now, but I do think he’s looking forward to going back and seeing a few familiar faces again. Your first game against a former club is always special. Perhaps it’ll give him even more energy than he usually has.”

… Ansgar Knauff: “Ansgar Knauff is doing very well. His reaction to missing out on the squad for Bochum was great. He’s trained well, he was superb against Aberdeen and is back in contention for the starting XI.” … threatening in front of goal: “We want to win and score goals. That’s what we all want and that’s what we’re working on. The young players in particular need time to settle and pose more of a goal threat, and we need to give them that time. Confidence will come with more success. I was an attacking player too and know what it’s like to start counting your minutes without a goal. They need to boost their confidence in training and in games, then things will hopefully fall into place.”
