The Eagles recorded their first-ever top flight win against The Foxes. Crystal Palace won 2-0 at The King Power Stadium thanks to a brace from Annabel Blanchard.
When speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s fixture against third-placed Brighton & Hove Albion, Kaminski said that she doesn’t feel any apprehension and that she is confident that her side can build on their success against Leicester City.
“I feel confident with the team and with the players’ application,” Kaminski said. “I don’t feel apprehensive, I feel respectful towards Brighton and I feel like they’ve done really well to get out of the blocks quickly. They’ve set their stall out and at this moment in time, they’re on a roll, they’ve got a bit of momentum.
“I back my team to be able to combat their strengths and I feel that with the concentrated and focused planning that we’ve had in the week, we are set up and ready to go. We had a great performance at the weekend and we want to continue that momentum on Sunday.”
Going on to discuss opponents Brighton & Hove Albion in detail, Kaminski said that she is anticipating a good tactical battle against a well-coached side.
She said “It’s difficult in this league because there are some games that are more tactically challenging. What I will say about Brighton is that they did recruit very well, they have got a fantastic manager leading the team and I really feel that tactically, they are very strong.
“We’ve looked at them at length and I am prepared for the game but they’ve had a fantastic start and it’s well deserved. They have invested, they stick to their principles but we will be ready for them at the weekend.”
Crystal Palace’s first win came very early in their time as a Barclays Women’s Super League club. Kaminski says that her side won’t be getting carried away, they will keep their feet on the ground.
She said “It was a good feeling [to get the first win]. The players thoroughly deserved it and I know that they relished the feeling. Fingers crossed, from now on, that feeling is addictive because we are certainly after that feeling again.
“Thoroughly deserved but at the same time, we need to keep our feet on the ground and remember that this is just the beginning for us.”
