Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall says that his side do not need to be reminded about complacency ahead of this afternoon’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Gunners travel to Broadfield Stadium to take on a Brighton & Hove Albion side that have taken four points from games against Manchester United and Manchester City in recent weeks.

The Sussex club can get a result against anyone on their day but Arsenal boss Eidevall believes that the same can be said for every team in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

“If you are complacent in the WSL against any team this season, I think you must have been sleeping and not watching any games or seeing any progression,” Eidevall said when speaking in the pre-match press conference. “We are way beyond that time, this is the most competitive season so far in the WSL and that will show in every game. If you’re not ready for that, you’re not going to be ready for the season.

“I’m not going to remind the players about complacency every game. We need to be 100 percent all of the time. It is a 22-match league, it is not a big ask to be 100 percent for every one of those games, it has to be the standard that we set.”

Going on to discuss Brighton & Hove Albion, Eidevall said that he sees a side that are united and very committed to the cause.

He said “They’re a well-organised side and they’re really resilient. They’ve played tough games against Chelsea, United and City but it’s a group of players that never give in, they keep working hard, they keep collaborating and they keep sticking to their ideas.

“It is a really well-built group that have a great connection with their coach and those teams are always really hard to play against.”

Arsenal’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Brighton & Hove Albion kicks-off at 2pm.
