Markus Krösche, Oliver Glasner, Makoto Hasebe, Daichi Kamada and Kristijan Jakic head into the international break in positive spirits after Saturday’s 3-1 win in Stuttgart.

Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “We’re on track to a certain extent, particularly when you look at all competitions. In the league we could have got one or two more points, but we’re heading in the right direction. We’re happy to have Makoto Hasebe and Daichi Kamada with us – they’re very valuable for our team. Makoto did well again today and Daichi is in good form.”

Head coach Oliver Glasner: “I’m very pleased with the performance, of course. The lads implemented everything we asked of them. They were passionate and had a positive mentality. This was our fifth game in 14 days. With two victories this week, we’ve finished on a high [before the international break]. Most of us now get a well-deserved break.”

Makoto Hasebe: “The coach was saying that everyone was complaining of fatigue. He then said: ‘We’re not tired – we’re Eintracht!’ We showed that on the pitch. It was important to stay focused, especially after the opening goal. We did that and deserved to win.”

Daichi Kamada: “When we win, I feel good. It was important to get the three points. I was tired at the beginning, but when we scored I felt fresh again.”

Kristijan Jakic: “It doesn’t matter where I play. If the coach puts me in goal, I’ll play in goal. It’s important to work hard and to learn. That’s what we do as a team. My goal today was the first of the season. I’m happy about that, but the win is more important. We’re on a good path.
