Denmark are set to take on Euro 2024 hosts Germany in the knockout rounds of the competition and they could be without star midfielder Christian Eriksen.

According to a report from NRK, Eriksen is now a doubt for the game against Germany because of a stomach problem. His performances have been quite impressive in the European championship so far and Denmark will certainly miss him if he is ruled out of the game.

The player missed training due to a stomach problem and it will be interesting to see whether he can recover in time for the game against Germany.

Denmark have been quite difficult to beat in the European championships so far and they will look to cause all sorts of problems for Germany when the two sides meet later tonight. They will need Eriksen’s passing, vision, and technical ability in the final third to break down a well-organised German defence.

Christian Eriksen to recover in time?

Eriksen will certainly hope to recover in time so that he can help his teammates make it to the next round of the competition. Meanwhile, Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand has revealed that Eriksen is doing better and things could improve.

“Christian woke up with a little rumbling in his stomach, and we had the same with Thomas Delaney earlier. To be sure that nothing will develop, we asked him not to train,” he said. “Fortunately, he is doing better, so it has not gone in the wrong direction, as it did with Delaney. So, we expect him to recover soon, and that he is ready for tomorrow. That is what we expect.”

Denmark will already be without the suspended Morten Hjulmand and they are likely to be without Thomas Delaney as well. They will not want to lose another key player in a vital game. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
