We are United

Article image:We are United

It was a disappointing performance and result last night for Newcastle United at Crystal Palace.

The race for European places looks like it could go down to the wire but I believe we have something the other teams haven’t got.

We are United!

Whilst the Newcastle United fans, owners and players are all united behind Eddie Howe, the same can’t be said of the other teams who are looking to qualify for the Europa League and/or the Europa Conference League.

Man United, West Ham and Chelsea are always just one bad result away from a major falling out between the fans, the players, the management and the owners.

Man United in particular are not united.

I can still remember watching a game between Man U and Newcastle United in a pub in London.

The Man U fans were berating their team and complaining that Fergie didn’t know what he was doing, because they were only drawing with Newcastle United.

Nothing has changed since then.

As for the other team in the hunt for European places, Brighton, although there is little dissent between the fans, the players and the owners, the question that Robert De Zerbi keeps asking is, should I stay or should I go?

Hopefully, if we can remain United behind Eddie and his players, we will be seeing the only team that is truly United playing in Europe next season.
