Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Dario Vidošić says that his side are prepared for the threat of Elisabeth Terland this weekend.

The 23-year-old returns to the Amex Stadium for the first time since swapping Brighton & Hove Albion for Manchester United. Terland netted 13 goals in 22 Barclays Women’s Super League outings for The Seagulls last season before opting to move to the North West.

When speaking to the media ahead of Brighton & Hove Albion’s meeting with Manchester United, head coach Vidošić said that his side are ready to deal with Terland’s threat.

“We are ready for her,” Vidošić said. “Most of our defenders shared a dressing room with her last season, so they know each other well. Some know her from playing together for their national team as well.

“Even though I didn’t get the opportunity to work with her last year, I’ve watched a lot of her and I’ve seen her for Manchester United as well. I can see her behaviours and what she likes to do.

“She’s a very good goalscorer and showcased that at the weekend. She’s a prolific striker who we will have to be well-aware of and she just needs one chance to score a goal. She’s one that we need to be aware of but there are plenty in that team that we need to be well in control of.”

Manchester United arrive at the Amex Stadium with maximum points on the board and having kept three consecutive clean sheets. Vidošić says that Brighton & Hove Albion are excited to test themselves against another in-form team.

He said “They’ve done exceptionally well. It’s not easy to keep clean sheets in this league with the quality of the teams and attackers. I do think they’ve given opportunities up; Tottenham had a really good one and on another day, it’d have been in the back of the net. Their goalkeeper is also very good and in top form.

“They’re very solid defensively but it’s a great test for us. They’re a good side with a good coach but we are looking forward to it. It’s another challenge, another opponent, it’s a very historical club.”

Brighton & Hove Albion will make their first appearance of the season at the Amex Stadium this weekend and Vidošić says that his side are ready to play at the club’s spiritual home.

He said “We had a training session there a couple of weeks ago and a photoshoot. I’ve been fortunate enough to go and watch a couple of the men’s games, take in the atmosphere and it’s been an awesome experience. It was always a stadium that I wanted to go to, so to finally experience that, it was unreal.

“We now have that opportunity as well and it looks like it’s going to be a really good atmosphere. Ticket sales are going well and I’d encourage everyone to come out and help us because we have an opportunity to go top of the table with a win.

“I think it’ll be a really good game for both sets of fans, the two clubs and for the league itself. It’s two teams that want to score goals and attack, so I can’t wait.”

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Manchester United kicks-off at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
