Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall says that his side are in a really good place ahead of their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final, first leg tie against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday evening.

The Gunners travel to Germany in good form. Eidevall’s side have won their last three matches, averaging three goals-per-game scored in the process. Arsenal’s opponents Bayern Munich are also in good form. The German club have won 12 home games on the bounce in all competitions while they have been victorious in 12 out of 13 home matches in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Arsenal boss Eidevall said that Bayern Munich’s excellent home record does not worry him.

“We’ve been playing against teams that have great home records this year in the Champions League,” Eidevall said. “Lyon and Juventus are two teams that have had excellent home records in the Champions League but we managed to draw in Turin and win in Lyon.

“We have respect for the record but we shouldn’t fear it.”

Eidevall went on to say that he has very positive feelings about his team at the current time. He believes that Arsenal understand how to manage certain situations in games without having to issue additional instructions.

He said “That game (the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup final) was really good and I think our performances after that against Liverpool and Reading have also shown that we are a team that’s in a good place right now.

“I feel that the preparation for Bayern Munich and the preparation lately, I have had to share less information with the players because I am more assured that we know what to do in certain situations. Let’s hope that is a good sign and not a sign of false security but I choose to believe in the first one.”

Arsenal’s UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final, first leg tie against Bayern Munich kicks-off at 5.45pm on Tuesday evening.
