Watford have announced the signing of Canadian midfielder Ismaël Koné.
The midfielder arrives from Montréal via Qatar, where he featured in all of his country’s games at the World Cup.
Koné has signed for an undisclosed fee, although multiple reports put the figure at a record sale amount for the Canadian club, eclipsing the previous benchmark of £5m.
He has signed a four-and-a-half year deal Vicarage Road.
It is the second Montréal exit after a strong World Cup showing as he follows Alastair Johnston across the water, with the defender moving north to Scottish champions Celtic.
