Watford set to become Antwerp midfielders seventh club in four years

The Athletic are reporting that Pierre Dwomoh is set to join Watford for around €1m. The Antwerp midfielder is expected to sign a contract of around four years with the side in the Championship. This will be the players seventh club in the past four years. Last season Dwomoh was on loan at RWDM, but after their relegation they were unable to keep him there permanently. The player had been widely expected to join Toronto FC in the MLS but the move fell through.

Dwomoh is a highly talented midfielder who has struggled to settle at most of the clubs he has been at. In 2021 he left Genk for Antwerp but has since spent time out on loan at Braga, where he made no first team appearances, and Oostende for the second half of the 2022/2023 season. His time with RWDM last season was by far the best season he has had, and it is easy to forget he is only 20-years-old. He played consistently for the Brussels side and despite their relegation was able to showcase the talent that has always been associated with him. In 33 games for the club he scored twice and grabbed one assist.
