Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann says there's positives to draw from defeat to Manchester City.

The Hornets lost 3-1 at home to the champions and the goalkeeper admits he feared the worst when Raheem Sterling opened the scoring after only four minutes, but felt they reacted well, despite the scoreline.

"We knew it was going to tough, playing against Man City's always hard," said Bachmann. "They're probably the best team in the world and when they score after four minutes you fear the worst because they've done it so many times, score early on and just demolish teams.

"We managed to keep the score respectable and got a couple of half chances or so and ended up scoring. "When you score with 15 minutes to go you never know what happens, you don't give up and try to get something out the game, which we probably didn't deserve to be brutally honest. We fought until the end and it's been a very tough week for us with obviously very tough fixtures."
