Kean Bryan’s three-year spell with Sheffield United is set to come to an end, with the defender expected to leave Bramall Lane at the end of the season.

Bryan swapped Manchester City for the Blades in the summer of 2018 having been released, but ever since that move he’s struggled to get into the team under Chris Wilder.

The centre-back never made a league appearance for his first two seasons at the Yorkshire outfit, but he surprisingly got his opportunity earlier on this season.

The 24-year-old has played 10 times in the Premier League and scored once at Old Trafford, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be enough to get him a new contract.

It does look like Bryan has options though and he could even get a surprise switch back into the Premier League, as according to The Sun, both Fulham (who could end up going down with the Blades) and Watford, who are sat in the Championship’s automatic promotion places, are both showing interest.

In Watford, Bryan could have an immediate return to the Premier League but the Hornets seem to have a bit of depth in that position.

Bryan wouldn’t really improve them in that sense – he doesn’t bring a mass amount of Premier League experience but his ability to play out from the back, as well as being left-footed, makes him sought after.

But would he get first-team football at Vicarage Road? It’s highly doubtful and that is why a move into the Championship may be more beneficial for Bryan.

Of course we don’t know where some teams will end up yet, and in Fulham’s case they look like they could be set for the drop back into the second tier unless they put some wins together between now and the end of the season.

If Scott Parker’s side do go down, they will probably not be able to keep Joachim Andersen who’s on loan from Lyon and Tosin Adarabioyo will also probably command Premier League interest, so Bryan may be someone who is needed.

Fulham do already have a left-sided centre-back in Terence Kongolo who would be ready for starts if they do drop into the Championship, but Bryan would provide more depth.

There’s also Swansea City who are interested in Bryan as well, and they could potentially be the best fit of all for the player as he would slot into Steve Cooper’s three centre-back system on the left side, and the Liberty Stadium is probably where he will get the most minutes.

Bryan definitely has his options open this summer and it will be interesting to see where his future lies, whether that be in the Premier League or the Championship.
