The Hornets have added Marc Bola, Nathan Baxter and Hector Kyprianou to their ranks this summer, but could be now set to lose one of their main midfield operators.

New manager Paulo Pezzolano has the task of taking the Hertfordshire outfit back towards the top of the Championship, and may have to do that without the Nigerian as he eyes up a Vicarage Road exit.

Dele-Bashiru has been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer, with Parma the latest side reportedly in for his services.

According to Sky Sports' Anthony Joseph via X, the Serie A side are in talks with Watford over a potential deal for the midfielder.

The 25-year-old has made his intention to exit Vicarage Road clear, after spending six years at the club following his move from Man City.

And it is claimed that Watford are happy to cash in on Dele-Bashiru this summer - but they will only do so for the right deal and the right price.

Football League World exclusively revealed earlier in the window that Ipswich Town were interested in a move for Dele-Bashiru, with Watford valuing the midfielder at £8 million at the time.

The former Manchester City youngster penned a fresh contract 12 months ago, keeping him at Vicarage Road until the summer of 2026, with the club also having the option to trigger a 12-month extension.

Parma meanwhile finished 16th in the Italian top-flight last term, narrowly avoiding relegation and are under new management, with former Arsenal assistant Carlos Cuesta taking over from Cristian Chivu at 29 years of age.

The Dele-Bashiru family have prior experience in Serie A, with Tom’s brother, Fisayo, signing for Lazio last summer.

A Tom Dele-Bashiru sale would seemingly benefit all parties at Watford

It’s well known that Dele-Bashiru is seeking a Vicarage Road exit this summer, and with Watford willing to grant his wish, reaching a conclusion sooner rather than later would be beneficial for all parties.

As Pezzolano begins his reign as the Hornets’ boss, the last thing he needs is unhappy players lowering the dressing room’s atmosphere.

Therefore, a sale would allow Dele-Bashiru to move on and give Watford the opportunity to reinvest the money from that deal back into the squad.

As a result, Parma’s pursuit of the 25-year-old should be relatively simple if they are willing to meet the Hornets’ demands.
