Barcelona have announced management and Ronald Araujo have reached an agreement to renew his contract until 30 June 2026.

The defender's termination clause is now set at 1,000 million euros.

The formal signing of the Uruguay international stopper's new contract will take place on Friday 29 April at 13.30 at the Camp Nou.

Araujo arrived at Barcelona in the summer of 2018 from Uruguay's Boston River. He was just 18 years old and he played for two and a half seasons for the reserve team. He made his debut with the first team in 2020 and since then he has taken part in 78 games with the 'Culé' side.

Some days ago, coach Xavi Hernández said that Araujo could be a central defender for the next 10 years or even more for the Catalan giants.
