Alex Jimenez, Rafael Leao and Santiago Gimenez combined for AC Milan’s winner against Hellas Verona last night. It was a wonderful goal from start to finish and a perfect example of what the Rossoneri are capable of.

Milan struggled to create chances against Verona, who were happy to sit back and rely fully on counter-attacks. Sergio Conceicao’s men had 74% possession but only three shots on target, which made the fans very frustrated as the game went on.

However, with 15 minutes to go, Jimenez received the ball on the edge of the box from Leao and played it back to the winger with a lovely dink. Milan’s No.10 then only needed to steer it Gimenez’s way and the Mexican made no mistakes with the header.

It was a wonderful goal from start to finish and it certainly showed that the Rossoneri have a lot of quality up front. We just need to see moves like that more often, along with more direct plays for Gimenez to work on.
