Chelsea will face Palmeiras in the Club World Cup final after beating Al-Hilal in Abu Dhabi.
Scorers: Lukaku 32âČ
Al-Hilal started brightly enough in the semi-final but it only took around 10 minutes for Chelsea to start dominating possession.
Hakim Ziyech and Mateo KovaÄiÄ threatened from range before two good chances fell to Romelu Lukaku. He couldnât convert those â missing the ball from a low Cesar Azpilicueta cross and aiming an effort directly at Abdullah Al-Mayouf â but he took his third chance.
Some fine work from Kai Havertz down the left led to a chance as his cross bounced to Lukaku in the middle and the Belgian lashed home.
Havertz could have doubled the lead shortly after the break but his dinked effort hit the post after he had flown down the left once again. That seemed to scare Al-Hilal into life and they gave Chelsea scares in the final 40 minutes, with Kepa smothering a huge chance for Moussa Marega and tipping a superb effort from Kanno.
That was as close as the underdogs came and Chelsea will now face Palmeiras in the final on Saturday.
