Krystian Bielik provided an assist for Charlton on Saturday, as his team push for the automatic promotion places in League One.

Playing in midfield, Bielik set up Charlton’s second goal of the game to give them the lead over League One leaders Luton Town. He pounced on a loose ball before beating a defender and laying a pass into the path of Igor Vetokele:

Charlton ended up winning the game 3-1, leaving them in fifth place and just three points behind second. Even if they can’t quite make it into the automatic promotion places, they’ll at least have the playoffs to fall back on, as they sit 15 points clear of Peterborough in seventh.

It’s been a very good campaign for Bielik, who has split his time between midfield and defence and impressed in both positions.

Arsenal fans enjoyed his latest goal contribution, with one writing “Jeez he’s turned into an absolute unit, I wonder if he can step up to the first team”, and another adding “I really hope we’ve got plans for this kid, he’s gigantic and can actually play football”.

The one sour point of Bielik’s positive season is that he’s had trouble with injuries once again. The 21-year-old spent a month out in the early part of the campaign, and he’s missed out on the Charlton squad five times in the last 10 games. When he’s played, he’s been impressive.
