Sergio Conceicao didn’t forget his former home Lazio after his Porto side edged out a 1-0 win over Arsenal in the Champions League.

The Portuguese coach spent three total seasons with the Biancocelesti in his playing career, being a part of the squad that won the Scudetto and two Coppa Italia titles. He is fondly remembered in the Italian capital and was once linked to the Lazio job after Simone Inzaghi’s exit.

Conceicao gave an interview with Sky Sports Italia after Porto’s 1-0 win over Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie on Wednesday evening. At the end of the interview, he asked to send a message to the fans.

“Let me say something. Thank you to everyone, Italy is a country that I adore, but I’m not saying this to offer myself to Italian football, it’s not about that. Let me just say Forza Lazio!”
