Barcelona defeat Girona in their second game of Pre-season ahead of the 2021/22 campaign with goals from Gerard Piqué, Rey Manaj, and Memphis Depay. We were also treated to plenty of standout performances from Barca B stars, who surely must be given more opportunities in the first team sooner rather than later. The first half was an even one overall, with Samu Sáiz starring for Girona. But it was Barcelona who took a 2-goal lead by the 23rd minute, with goals through Gerard Piqué from a penalty won by the impressive Baldé, as well as yet another Rey Manaj strike – his fourth goal in just two pre season games.

Memphis Depay entered the fold just before the half-time whistle, much to the delight of the Blaugrana faithful, and the Dutch forward capped off an exciting debut with a late goal from the penalty spot. The likes of Álex Collado, Pablo Gavi and Antoine Griezmann also impressed in the second half.
