MIAMI – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup continues with the Washington Spirit hosting Vancouver Rise FC Academy in Group B on Wednesday at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., USA.
This will be the first time these teams meet each other on the pitch.
Washington Spirit secured a successful debut in the W Champions Cup in matchweek one with a 7-nil victory at Alianza Women FC. Trinity Rodman, Brittany Ratcliffe and Rosemonde Kouassi, who scored the first hat-trick of the 2025/26 edition, were among the scorers for the NWSL side.
Rose Kouassi became the first player to score a hat-trick on her tournament debut.
Sofia Cantore made history as the first Italian player to score in the Concacaf W Champions Cup.
The 0-7 result is the second-largest win margin by an NWSL club in the tournament, only behind NY Gotham FC’s 13-0 victory over Frazsiers Whip in 2024.
Washington Spirit became just the second team in tournament history to win 7-0 (after CF América Femenil vs. Whitecaps in 2024), and the first U.S. club to do so in its competition debut.
Vancouver Rise FC Academy, formerly known as Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy, begins its second participation in the tournament. Players like Chloe Taylor, Bridget Mutipula and Emily Wong, who scored in the inaugural edition, are back to help the Canadian club write more history.
