Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Steven Bergwijn could be available for around £20m this summer. The Ajax winger may have to be sold to solve some financial issues at the Amsterdam club. Ajax have had a poor season and are still looking for a new head coach for the 2024/2025 campaign.
In 23 Eredivisie games this season, Bergwijn has scored 12 goals and provided four assists. He also played five games in the Europa League, scoring once. Bergwijn joined Ajax for around €31.25m from Tottenham in the summer of 2022. Bergwijn made 83 appearances for Tottenham, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists. He had been signed by the London club from PSV, where he had played 149 games with 31 goals scored and 41 assists provided.
Bergwijn is currently under contract in Amsterdam until 2027. Transfermarkt value him at around €20m, although the club will likely want more than the £20m that Romano and Premier League clubs may be considering.
