Samuel began his playing career with Newell’s Old Boys before joining Boca in 1997. He spent the bulk of his career in the Italian Serie A, winning five Scudetti, three Coppe Italia and the 2010 Champions League along the way.

Since finishing his career with FC Basel at the age of 38, Samuel has been working on his coaching badges and has now been handed an excellent opportunity with the Selección.
