Center back Walker Zimmerman, forward Paxten Aaronson and fullback Nathan Harriel will be late inclusions in Mauricio Pochettio's U.S. men's national team camp roster ahead of upcoming friendlies against Turkiye (June 7) and Switzerland (June 10), U.S. Soccer announced on Sunday afternoon.
They'll join goalkeeper Chris Brady as late, injury-related additions to the original 27-man group announced last week.
Meanwhile, striker Folarin Balogun (ankle), center back Sean Zawadzki (knee) and DeJuan Jones lower body) have been ruled out of the camp with their respective injuries. Goalkeeper Patrick Schulte (torso) had previously been ruled out after his selection, prompting Brady's inclusion.
Zimmerman's return to the USMNT fold is perhaps most notable in that it may reflect confidence that the aftermath of a scary head injury suffered in early April earlier is well and truly behind him.
He missed about a month and a half all told, but has now appeared in three consecutive games for Nashville. He returned to the starting XI and captain's role for the first time since the injury in Saturday's 2-2 draw against New York City FC, playing all 90 minutes.
Meanwhile, Aaronson returns to the USMNT after completing a 33-appearance league campaign for FC Utrecht, scoring eight goals and assistin four more. He could make his second national team appearnace alongside brother Brenden, who is also a part of the June camp after he was one of the most surprising omissions from the March squad that struggled in Concacaf Nations League play.
The Philadelphia Union's Harriel and the Chicago Fire's Brady would be making their senior USMNT debuts if they see the field in either friendly or later in the approaching 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
