Club captain Kyle Walker will make his 300th appearance for City in Sunday’s Premier League clash with West Ham.

Since arriving in 2017, Walker has been a pivotal figure in the most trophy-laden era in our history, claiming 16 major honours.

He now has the chance to add to that haul in the Premier League and FA Cup over the next six days as Pep Guardiola’s side chase a third domestic Double in five years.

Victory at the Etihad Stadium today would mark his third trophy as captain after receiving the armband following the departure of Ilkay Gundogan last summer.

We have already sealed the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in this campaign.

Walker’s consistency for Guardiola’s all-conquering team is highlighted by the number of games he has played each term.

The right-back was most used in 2018/19, playing 52 times, and has appeared more than 40 times in four further campaigns including this one.

197 of his City matches have come in the Premier League as City have dominated the division – lifting the trophy five times before the chance for a sixth today.

The No.2 has played 52 times in the UEFA Champions League, 25 in the FA Cup, 19 in the League Cup, four Community Shields, two FIFA Club World Cup games and last summer’s UEFA Super Cup.

Only three players in the current squad have worn the shirt more than Walker – Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo and Ederson – while just 42 men in the Club’s history have represented us more.

Blessed with incredible pace, Walker has held down the right of City’s defence for seven seasons and proved himself against the world’s best wingers.

He has also developed as a leader within the dressing room, notably making team talks ahead of crucial matches including last season’s Champions League final.

Not known for his goalscoring, the defender has found the net six times in his City career with his most recent finish coming in October 2021.

While he has spent the vast majority of his time at City at right-back, the England international memorably went in goal during a 2019/20 Champions League group stage game against Atalanta after Ederson suffered an injury and his replacement Claudio Bravo was sent off.

Congratulations to Kyle on this incredible landmark!
