Chivas manager Víctor Manuel Vucetich was livid with the officiating after his side needed a late equaliser to save a point at home Juárez on Saturday.

José Godínez levelled in the 89th minute after the visitors had taken the lead early in the second half with a highly controversial goal.

The ball clearly struck the hand of Juárez captain Maximiliano Olivera before it fell perfectly to Gabriel Fernández to net his second of the game for Los Bravos.

Neither referee Fernando Hernández nor the VAR review deemed Olivera’s involvement as illegal, leaving ‘King Midas’ incredibly frustrated after the final whistle at the Estadio Akron.

“I don’t like to talk about refereeing, but in this case it is the rule that must be modified,” Vucetich said.

“I already observed it and it is a pass like a volleyball that he puts on his partner and scores.

“However, it is part of the rule. I do not know how they interpret it and there you must use better criteria and know how to mark hands of this nature.

“We have to seek to correct details…to see what has to be done for this situation.”

The result left the Flock with one win, one loss and one draw from their opening three games in the 2021 Apertura.
