Volendam centre-back Micky van de Ven is regarded as one of the best prospects in all of Dutch football but won’t be making a leap just yet.
All the Eredivisie giants (PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar) are hot for the 19-year-old but Volendam Director Keje Molenaar expects the teenager to remain at the club next season.
“Micky van de Ven is just 19 years old,” Molenaar told NH Sportcafé.
“We scouted him at Fortuna Wormerveer. He has been in the youth of Volendam for a long time. He still has a three-year contract.
“The agreement is that he will continue to play with us in the coming season. That is best for his development so that he can take steps.”
Van de Ven made 19 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie last season as Volendam finished third in the Dutch second tier.
