Dusan Vlahovic sent a pointed message to Juventus coach Thiago Motta, explaining why it is ‘easier’ for him to play with Serbia and their tactical approach.
The 24-year-old has scored nine goals in 16 competitive games so far this season at club level, along with one assist.
Although he did not find the net in Friday’s 1-1 Nations League draw in Switzerland, he did provide the assist for Aleksa Terzic’s late equaliser after Aleksandar Mitrovic saw a penalty parried.

Speaking to RSI afterwards, Vlahovic was asked about the differences between playing for Thiago Motta’s Juventus and the current Serbia squad.
“It is a bit easier for me when there is another striker, because Mitrovic holds up the ball and engages in aerial duels, so I can make more of my own characteristics and qualities,” said Vlahovic.
“The coach also does not require many defensive duties from me, so that makes it easier too. With my physicality, I can’t really run that much and am not as fresh in my finishing when I’ve been working so hard.”
The statements are not dissimilar to the ones the striker made last season when Max Allegri was at the helm of Juve.
The former Fiorentina centre-forward has a record of 13 goals and seven assists in 31 senior caps for Serbia, but failed to find the net during the brief EURO 2024 campaign as his nation was eliminated in the group phase.
