Vitor Roque update: Barcelona in talks with Al-Hilal over potential move

It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Vitor Roque since he arrived at Barcelona this January, first presented as their number nine of the future, and now potentially on his way out of the club after just 353 minutes of action.

His exit seems to be a very real possibility this summer, with the Blaugrana making little attempt to hide their openness to selling the 19-year-old. Arriving for €30m, Matteo Moretto has explained that they are unlikely to sell him for less than they bought him for – it is presumed he has not met any of the €31m in variables included in his move from Athletico Paranaense.

Currently Barcelona are in talks with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal over a deal for Roque, and the Blaugrana are open to a deal. However until Roque gives the green light for a move to the Middle East, which is yet to happen, his future remains uncertain.

This summer Barcelona have been making eyes at the likes of Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, but Roque may well hold the key to all of their business. Despite optimism from President Joan Laporta about their economic situation, most reporting on their situation continues to claim they must make sales in order to make signings. Roque looks the most likely at the time of writing.
