On-loan Barcelona star Vitor Roque has confirmed that he will not celebrate, if he manages to find the net against Barcelona this weekend.
Frontman Roque is for his part of course in the midst of final preparations for a meeting with his parent club.
This comes as Real Betis get set to welcome Barcelona to the Estadio Benito Villamarín on Saturday evening, for a La Liga clash.
In the buildup to the fixture, much of the chatter has centered on the aforementioned Roque, after the Brazilian was rescued from his nightmare stint in Blaugrana colours by Betis over the summer.
Roque could hardly be blamed for having revenge in mind against his ex-employers, after being treated beyond poorly across his six-month stint in Catalunya’s capital.
Speaking to the media late this week, the prospect of finding the net on Saturday was in turn put to the 19-year-old himself.
And though Roque assured that he has set his sights on precisely as much, the young attacker was also keen to reiterate to Directo Gol that:
“If I score a goal against Barça, I won’t celebrate it.”
Asked if this stance comes out of respect for Barcelona, Roque simply concluded: “Yes.”
