Saints sink Rooks

Southampton won away to Lewes after the hosts’ Ini Umotong saw her penalty saved by Kayla Rendell. Georgie Freeland fired the Saints one up and even though Umotong did find the net on 62 minutes, the Saints won it with Rachel Panting’s long-range effort.

Birmingham City beat Coventry United 5-1 but were only one up at half-time. Claudia Walker and Sarah Mayling each scored twice, Emily Murphy once, while Georgia Stevens pulled one back.

Everton leave it late

Durham threatened a cup shock at Everton as Molly Sharpe struck the opener for just after the restart but poppy Poppy Pattinson quickly had the Toffees back on level terms. It wasn’t until the last minute that Everton grabbed the decider, Nicoline Sorenson sweeping home Hayley Raso’s cross to book a trip to Chelsea.

Holders next up for Hammers

West Ham will travel to holders Manchester City after brushing aside third-tier Chichester & Selsey 11-0. Emily van Egmond hit a hat-trick inside the first 20 minutes and later got a fourth, Nor Mustapha netted twice and there was one each from Kenza Dali, Gilly Flaherty, Cecilie Redisch, Anouk Denton and a Kate Longhurst penalty.

Leicester City edged Liverpool 1-0 to set up a tie with Manchester United. The Foxes made the breakthrough on 72 minutes, when Natasha Flint robbed keeper Rachel Laws of the ball and Hannah Cain stroked it into the empty net.

Millie Turner, Ella Toone, Lucy Staniforth and Amy Turner all got first-half goals for Manchester United at Burnley, with Kirsty Hanson adding a couple before the hour mark.

Spurs win at Reading

Tottenham won 3-2 after extra-time at Reading and next have home advantage over Sheffield United. Fara Williams fired Reading in front but Alana Kennedy’s set piece brought Spurs level on 20 minutes. Tottenham took the lead through Rachel Williams three minutes into the second half but Rachel Rowe replied for the Royals. Three minutes into extra-time, Ashleigh Neville played in Jessica Naz to net Tottenham’s winner.

Brighton edged Bristol City as Inessa Kaagman converted from the spot penalty inside the last third of the tie. Albion will next host Huddersfield Town, after they saw off Derby County 3-2.

Having levelled to go in at 1-1 at the interval the Rams missed a penalty shortly after the restart. The Terriers forced an own-goal 18 minutes from time and Laura Elford soon added their third, although Hannah Ward replied to set up a tense finish.

Lowri Walker got Wanderers back in it, only for Georgia Walters to make it 4-2 from the spot and then bury a 30-yard free kick.

Beth Lumsden opened the scoring for the Addicks but Daisy McLachlan levelled for Oxford. With no addition to the score, the extra half-hour was needed and on 105 minutes, Charlton’s Kate Godden buried the ball from 20 yards to send her side through.
