Virgil van Dijk making great progress with latest injury update | OneFootball

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has posted an update on his injury progress with him now kicking a ball around once more.

The Dutch defender required surgery on an ACL injury after Jordan Pickford clattered into him during the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park back in October.

He’s been out since, of course, but Reds fans have had a few updates on his progress in terms of his recovery and this is the most promising yet.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

This is the best update we’ve seen yet and it should only get better.

The Reds’ no.4 will not be rushed back given the severity of his injury but it is clear he is making good progress and this will boost hopes he can be back before the end of the season.

Certainly, the Reds will hopefully be in contention for big trophies once he does return and he’ll be able to help the team in getting over the line.

For now, though, it’s Manchester United up next this afternoon and he remains having a watching brief only.
