There can be no doubting that Vinnie Jones had the shortest fuse in Premier League history.

The no-nonsense brawler simply didn’t take no for an answer and, if you were ever the focus of his ire, then you truly were in danger.

The man was relentlessly impartial as well, as he proved when even a five-year-old mascot was once forced to suffer the wrath of big Vinnie.

While some of his brutally infamous slide tackles were rather effective in terms of getting the ball, more often than not they were wild and agricultural at best.

In truth, it was Vinnie who ‘came in like a wrecking ball’ long before a certain Miley Cyrus ever did – then he did so again and again and again. By the end of his career, he had been sent off 12 times.

From Eric Cantona to Roy Keane, Jones simply didn’t care who you were, he was just hell-bent on landing a slide tackle that his opponents would remember for the rest of their waking days.

Now, a cold-blooded compilation of Jones’ most ferocious effortss has emerged and it just highlights how merciless he was in the tackle.

In truth, Jones makes the Premier League look like a bit of an abattoir in the video as he sends hapless opponents flying hither and thither.

Brutal – imagine how terrifying it must have been to be up against Jones when going for a 50-50 ball.

Of course, Jones was actually a very good footballer and was one of the key components to a Wimbledon squad that spent some heady days in the Premier League.

He was part of the 1988 FA Cup winning outfit and enjoyed spells at Chelsea and QPR.

Fortunately, Jones played in an era where there was more leniency when it came to an ‘uncompromising’ tackle.

Had he played in the Premier League as we know it now, you can be certain that tally of 12 sending offs would be astronomically higher.

Now, Jones spends his time working as a pundit alongside what can be considered a very successful acting career.

Despite his notorious temper, Jones is one of the true characters of the Premier League – we just wouldn’t want to be tackled by him.
