Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has already set the tone for the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, explaining how his teammates should welcome him. The Brazilian, one of the contenders for the Ballon d’Or, will be expected to form a partnership with Mbappe.

The pair generally like to operate in similar areas, coming off the left, and some have expressed concern that they could get in one another’s way. Admittedly those concerns have all been external, and Carlo Ancelotti will back himself to make it work. Vinicius certainly had no doubts.

“It’s going to be brutal, I hope we can do great things. We have to take care of him and do everything possible so that he can adapt as quickly as possible. It is always difficult to get to another club, but we already did it with Jude, who arrived last season and has shone. Hopefully we can repeat it with Kylian.”

Vinicius had no intention of resting on his laurels this coming season either, after achieving a Liga and Champions League double.

“I want to win more titles than last season, score more goals, give more assists and continue evolving because I’m only 24 years old. I’ve been here for six years now, but I can’t get enough of seeing Luka Modric playing for one more year with us and being able to learn. from him and all the other players is always good,” he told RMTV, as carried by Marca.

Perhaps more of an issue for Ancelotti will be finding a place for Rodrygo Goes. He too would rather play on the left side of attack, but has been used on the right for the last few years, in order to get him game time. With the Italian manager already stating that Bellingham will continue to play close to goal, it leaves Rodrygo’s position in doubt.
