Real Madrid needed a second half strike from substitute VinĂcius JĂșnior to salvage an important win against Real Valladolid on Wednesday night.
In a low key first half, Luka JoviÄ impressed in attack for the home side after recent rumours regarding his future but chances proved to be at a premium at Estadio Alfredo Di StĂ©fano.
After the break, the Serbian had a header saved before Casemiro crashed a strike against the crossbar as Los Blancos turned the screw.
And on 65 minutes they were rewarded when luck turned their way as the ball fortuitously broke to VinĂcius JĂșnior inside the area and the substitute found the corner of the net.
That result now lifts the league champions up to third place in the table.
