Vinicius Junior has insisted he wants to reach 500 games with Real Madrid in the face of renewed interest in his services from the Saudi Pro League.

Wednesday's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad, for which he was the captain, was Vinicius' 299th appearance for Madrid, but just how many more he will make has been the subject of intense speculation as officials from Saudi Arabia prepare to propose a record-breaking transfer which would make Vinicius the most expensive player of all time.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Vinicius had turned down's Madrid's opening offer in talks over a new contract, and it was later claimed that the mind-boggling finances on offer in the Middle East had made an impact on him.

The Telegraph state that Saudi officials are ready to bid over £200m to lure Vinicius away this summer and, while Madrid have made it clear they have no interest in selling, they will leave the final decision up to the 24-year-old.

If Vinicius' latest comments are to be believed, he has no desire to even contemplate a departure from the Santiago Bernabeu.

"It's something very special to be able to play so long here, and at 24 years old to play my first game as captain," he told Real Madrid TV. "It's very special for me and my family, after everything we've been through to get here.

"It's something different because you never imagine what's going to happen to you, and I'm happy to be able to enter [history] as captain of the best club in the world in the semi-finals of the cup. I'm living it. It's something I hadn't even dreamed of. In the next match the 300th appearance will come, but I already want the 400th and 500th and to make history at this club."

Talks over an extension to Vinicius' deal, which expires in 2027, remain ongoing, and manager Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear he is not concerned.
