Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. has taken to social media this evening, to reveal his appreciation for one of the less-heralded members of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
Real, of course, were back in action a short time ago, making the trip to Son Moix for a La Liga meeting with RCD Mallorca.
When all was said and done, it was Los Blancos who emerged on the right side of the result, courtesy of a moment of individual brilliance on the part of Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Post-match, it has in turn come as little surprise to see France international Tchouaméni – restored to his natural role in the middle of the park against Mallorca – take the majority of the plaudits.
As alluded to above, though, in the game’s aftermath, Vinícius Jr. was keen to make clear his appreciation for another of Real’s star performers at Son Moix.
The player in question? Ferland Mendy.
Afforded his latest start on Saturday evening, left-back Mendy proved himself Mr. Reliable once more, barely putting a foot wrong over the course of the 90 minutes.
Whilst it has been the likes of Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo and the aforementioned Vinícius who have so often been celebrated over the course of a fine season on the part of Real Madrid to date, Mendy, for his part, has proven something of an unsung hero week after week.
In turn, the transfer-linked defender will no doubt be delighted to hear of his exploits being deservedly highlighted by a headline member of the attacking ranks in Spain’s capital late on Saturday night:
