Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has remained coy as to whether Manuel Neuer will be fit for this weekendâs crunch clash with Bayer Leverkusen.
The Bavarian giants take on last seasonâs champions on Saturday in an early bid to go six points clear of the Werkself at the top of the Bundesliga.
Neuer has been missing since their Champions League win over Dinamo Zagreb following a nasty mid-air collision.
But Kompany has admitted that the shot-stopper has been training with his team mates.
âManu is training,â the coach said.
âWeâll make the final decision tomorrow. Hopefully weâll have everyone available and can pick the best team for the game.â
Kompany was then asked if he has extra motivation to beat Xabi Alonso this weekend, a coach who was the main candidate to replace Thomas Tuchel at the club over the summer.
âNo, not at all. My motivation is that Leverkusen were champions last season and are now coming to the Allianz Arena,â he added.
âWeâre top of the table and have the chance to do something for our fans. Itâs completely normal in this business to have candidates for the job.
âItâs not about having any kind of ego. Not at all. Iâm here for the team. Iâm having great fun here. I work very hard and want to earn everything. Everything else isnât important to me.
âI like to see others have success when they get the maximum out of themselves, because I know how tough it is. I want to do my thing and will do all I can for it.â
