🇪🇸 Villarreal snatch late victory against Barca in eight-goal thriller | OneFootball

Barcelona crumbled late on against a red-hot Villareal in one of the games of the season.

Scorers: Gündoğan 60′, Pedri 68′, Bailly (OG) 71′ ; Moreno 41′, Akhomach 54′, Guedes 84′, Sørloth 90+9′, Morales 90+12′

Villarreal took the lead against Xavi’s Barcelona late in the first half with a well worked goal from Gerard Moreno. The Spaniard struck his shot into the bottom left corner after being found in the box by Alexander Sørloth.

The Yellow Submarine then doubled their lead when former Barca winger Ilias Akhomach, rounded Iñaki Peña to tap home into an empty net.

Barcelona responded well with a well struck effort from İlkay Gündoğan finding the bottom left corner just six minutes later.

Pedri then levelled the scoring with a strike into the bottom right corner shortly afterwards and they looked to have completed the turnaround in the 71st minute when Eric Bailly deflected the ball into his own net.

The drama didn’t stop there as Gonçalo Guedes struck a fierce a late equaliser into the bottom left corner on the counter attack.

The Catalans then completely fell apart, conceding a quickfire double to Sørloth and José Luis Morales leaving Xavi and Barça dumbfounded.
