The powers that be at Villarreal have this evening agreed a deal for a fresh addition to the club’s defensive ranks.
That’s according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who has provided an update on developments behind the scenes at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
As per Romano’s latest report, ‘Villarreal have agreed a deal to sign Yerson Mosquera’.
The move will come in the form of a loan, with Mosquera set to join Gonçalo Guedes as Villarreal’s 2nd signing from Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers this month.
Mosquera, for his part, is a 22-year-old central defender, who is also capable of lining out at full-back.
On the books of Wolves since all the way back in 2021, he is yet to actually make a league appearance for his parent club.
This past season, though, Mosquera provided an insight into precisely why the Molineux brass had identified him as a potential star in the making at such a young age.
This came as the stopper, now a fully-established Colombian international, shone bright across a loan stint with Major League Soccer outfit FC Cincinnati.
It remains to be seen whether such form translates to the La Liga stage, but Mosquera’s arrival is certainly one to keep an eye on for the Villarreal faithful.
