Roma remain vigilant as ex-Giallorossi player Nicolo Zaniolo is being linked with yet another transfer, this time from Galatasaray.
The former Roma player failed to convince Aston Villa to make his transfer permanent.
Thus, Zaniolo is expected shortly to be back in Istanbul where him and his entourage will work toward finding a new team.
The player is not keen on staying at Galatasaray and is eager to return to Italy.
In Serie A, only Fiorentina so far have come forward for the Italian winger, reports Fabrizio Romano.
However, sources from Spain also claim that Villareal have shown interest in Zaniolo – which could benefit Roma in the long-run.
As reported by Relevo, Villarreal would like to sign Zaniolo on loan, given the financial difficulties in matching Galatasaray’s original request of €15 million.
The former Giallorossi player, who in the past had expressed his intention to return to Italy, would willingly accept the transfer to the Iberian club, with Roma as an interested observer given the percentage that is due on the sell-on clause on the player in an operation above €20 million or 20% on the difference between Galatasaray’s selling price and the €16.5 million paid by the Turkish team in February 2023 to purchase him from the Giallorossi.
In any case, Roma are bound to profit at some point from Zaniolo’s imminent departure from the Turkish giants.
