Manchester United Women have announced the departure of Vilde Bøe Risa, who joins Atlético de Madrid on a permanent deal, signing a contract which runs until June 2024.
The midfielder joined United from Sandviken in July 2021 and went on to make 44 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals.
The 28-year-old Norway midfielder played a key role in the club’s successful 2022/23 season which saw them finish second in the Women’s Super League, qualify for the Champions League for the first time, and compete in the FA Cup final.
At international level, Bøe Risa was also part of the Norway side which made it as far as the round of 16 at this summer’s Women’s World Cup.
