You have to give them credit - after a tough start to the season, Austria Vienna have stuck to their guns and now appear to be reaping the dividends of their patience. The side coached by Michael Wimmer are currently on a superb run with four wins in a row. Most of them have been on the close side, but 12 points from 12 are certainly not to be sniffed at.
In particular, their away win at Sturm Graz was an attention-grabbing result. The Violets did almost manage to see an end to their good run against basement club Austria Lustenau last week, however. A controversial refereeing and VAR call as well as a goal from Alexander Schmidt in literally the last minute helped the Viennese to a dramatic win.
The Violas still have plenty of ground to make up in the table, with their seventh place still not enough for a spot in the championship group, as things stand. We had no trouble against Sunday's opponents on the 3rd matchday in Salzburg, sending them back to Vienna with a 2-0 defeat after goals from Amankwah Forson and Karim Konate at the Red Bull Arena.
Konate is currently locked in a tight battle at the top of the Austrian Bundesliga goalscorers' list with Austria Vienna's Andreas Gruber. The pair are sharing top spot with eight goals (together with Hartberg's Maximilian Entrup). Austria Vienna are rather dependent on Gruber's goals, however, with eight of 14 Bundesliga goals forming a 57 % share – more than any other club. The 28-year-old has not won any of his 19 meetings with us in the Bundesliga, however (with seven draws and 12 defeats).
We are aiming to keep it that way. Having reclaimed the league lead, we want to take another ADMIRAL Bundesliga win this Sunday at the Generali Arena. For anyone hoping to support us away from home, we have put together all the key info here:

Austria Vienna are on a really good run right now. They are playing good football, picking up a lot of points and are very solid at the back. They are also riding a bit of a wave at the moment. We have to be prepared for that when we enter the pitch in Vienna on Sunday. We need to stand our ground well, as we are aiming for three points.

Austria Vienna have not conceded in five matches, and they have been very strong at home recently. Our aim isn't just to break that defensive record, but also to take three points back to Salzburg. We need to play confidently and focusedly for that, and convert our chances as I think we won't get too many.
