A video of Raheem Sterling reacting to a suggestion that Liverpool could go on and dominate the Premier League for a number of years has resurfaced this week.

At the end of last season, Sterling was interviewed by Sky Sports journalist Laura Woods and appeared to laugh off claims that Liverpool could be the number one team in the country for years to come.

Woods asks Sterling what he thinks about pundits and journalists suggesting that Liverpool will takeover England following their Premier League title success in 2020 and the City winger laughs and responds by saying that they won the title the two years previously.

Sterling goes on to say that he and his teammates will go away in the summer and return ready to go again and challenge Liverpool for the title. He admits that Liverpool’s title success hurt City’s players and that it would fuel them to go again next season (the current campaign).

The former Liverpool winger’s reaction to Woods’ comment seems justified now, with City winning the Premier League this season. Pep Guardiola’s side were confirmed as champions earlier this week, whilst Liverpool are currently scrapping for the top four after a difficult season due to injuries and Covid-19 issues.

Football Daily shared the clip on Twitter this week, showing Sterling’s reaction to the possibility of Liverpool dominating the Premier League again.
