Even though our attack needs to be tweaked a little, it’s not perfect just yet, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s biggest issue with the current Manchester United side is how poorly they’ve defended this season.
Harry Maguire was signed almost two years ago for big money and is expected to keep his place in the starting line-up next season. I’m not sure the same can be said for Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly, who have shared the role alongside Maguire with the Swede edging in more times than his Ivorian team-mate.
“We know that we have scored quite a few goals,” Solskjaer said. “We know we need to be a better team defensively.”
The boss also urged his time to win tighter games, like we seen previously against City and Liverpool.
When asked specifically about Lindelof and Bailly he said he feels as though he can trust his defenders. Does anyone believe that?
Hopefully United will go into the transfer market and find a reliable centre-back with pace who can take this team to the next level.
Ruben Dias was a top signing for City last summer and it’s proof that with good scouting it’s possible.
