Celtic’s stars were busy putting in the final preparations for tomorrow afternoon’s Scottish Cup Semi-final at Hampden Park against Aberdeen up at Lennoxtown today. Brendan Rodgers will he on his tenth visit to the national stadium now, where he found unprecedented success against all foes in the domestic cup competitions from 2016-19.

The boss has faced off against tomorrow’s opposition on more than one occasion and it was in this very tournament that his first, debut Treble was secured against Derek McInnes’ Dons side. That was one of the most memorable moments in any season in Celtic’s history, as Tom Rogic scored a sumptuous injury-time winner into Joe Lewis to secure a beautiful triplet of trophies for the club.

Memories like that are what supporting Celtic are all about and make the tough days all the more worth it. This term has been a rollercoaster of emotions thus far, and despite the mainstream media’s best intentions, we have not folded like a deck of cards, to borrow a phrase, and stand within just a few games of securing what would be a sweet triumph in May if we maintain our ground.

At 12.30pm on Saturday, we will have the opportunity to book our place in yet another Scottish Cup Final, after winning last year’s against a dogged Inverness Caley Thistle side, led by old rival, Billy Dodds. Peter Leuven is in charge of the team from the Granite City, and will be hoping he can get a tune out of a team that has been falling well-below that which is expected of a team that’s won European trophies in the past.

With a new manager watching on from elsewhere, the opposing players might be eager to impress and we should be prepared for a battle tomorrow. Nothing is a given. Stay true to one another and stick to our principles and the way we want to play football and we could have the treat of another, even more spectacular day out at Mount Vernon come 25 May.
