Back in 2016, Liverpool came up against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-finals.

During the second leg of the tie at Anfield, the game was level on aggregate (4-4).

However, the Bundesliga side led the tie on away goals heading into stoppage time of the second leg. With that being the case, Liverpool had to score to progress to the semi-finals.

In the dying moments of the second leg, Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren headed home the decisive goal of the tie. Liverpool defeated Borussia Dortmund 5-4 on aggregate. Lovren’s goal can be viewed below.

Liverpool ended up progressing to the 2016 Europa League final. However, Sevilla defeated Liverpool 3-1 in Basel to claim the trophy.
