Today was the most downbeat and tense press conference we’ve seen from Thomas Tuchel’s year at Chelsea. The final question came on the topic of Romelu Lukaku, and Tuchel flatly refused to answer it.
It was phrased in a positive way, but Tuchel just rejected the idea that he was going to speak about any players individually today. He said that Lukaku is “for sure” not the problem in any case – but one wonders who he might have ended up blaming if he had starting talking about individuals.
